Randy 'The Arsonist' Cooper.

My current job is:
Lead Guitarist For Emperors and Elephants.

My hometown:
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

My current album or project is:
Devil In The Lake.

Former bands:
Texas Hippie Coalition.

My guitar influences growing up were:
Eddie Van Halen, Randy Rhoads, DIMEBAG, Zakk Wylde.

The guitars I use are:
DEAN Custom Shop ML’s.

The strings and tunings I use are:
GHS 10-54 Drop C tuning.

My current rig setup consists of:
MARSHALL JCM 900_DEAN Custom shop ML’s Loaded with EMG 81-85 pickups, Ibanez Tube Screamer Hand Wired, Zakk Wylde Waw, MXR Eddie Van Halen Flanger an Phaser MXR Zakk Wylde chorus, Digitech Whammy pedal, Jimi Hendrix Expression Pedal.

The greatest invention for guitars is:
Floyd Rose Tremolo.

My normal songwriting process consists of:
Coming up with a BAD-ASS Riff and recording it on my phone so I don’t lose it!

My favorite guitar solo from our band:
On the Song "Hit of Red" off The Devil In The Lake CD.

My favorite all-time guitar solo (from another guitarist):
"ERUPTION" (Van Halen & Randy Rhoads live solo Suicide Solution.

Favorite all-time song (any artist) is:
"Over The Mountain", Ozzy Osborne.

Favorite song by our band:
Man Of God.

Favorite song to perform in front of a live audience:
"Man Of God".

My Career highlight thus far is:
Playing The Cultural Festival in San Paulo Playing there Brazil National Anthem for a 100,000 people.

My most embarrassing moment on stage:
Tripping over my Cord and all most falling.

Other than my guitar and amps, the one piece of my gear that I cannot live without is:

The first song I ever mastered on guitar:
"Cat Scratch Fever". I can still here my mother say "PLEASE LEARN ANOTHER SONG!"

My first guitar was:
An acoustic 6 string from Sears when I was in 3rd grade.

The first time I ever heard our band on the radio was:
"Texas Tags" riding across Manhattan to the Warsaw in Brooklyn with my buddy Philly Joe Jones and he changed the words to "I LIVE IN A VAN BUS".

If I am only sure of one thing in life, It's:
Follow your DREAMS!

The one ritual I always perform prior to going on stage is:
I always Pray.

The exact moment I knew I would pursue a career in music was:
When I saw KISS on the Dynasty Tour.

The one thing most fans don't know about me is:
I broke my Neck in a car wreck in 1991 was a total quadriplegic paralyzed from the neck down _retrained myself to walk _and play guitar again and I have NO FEELING IN MY HANDS.

The best advice I could give beginning guitarists:
Do whatever it takes to make it. DON’T EVER EVER GIVE UP, Follow your DREAMS, Don't listen to ANYONE the tells you you can’t do it or can’t make it Cuz YOU CAN!!!

San Paulo Cultural Festival in Brazil.

My biggest pet peeve:
Sitting in traffic.

The word or catch phrase I say too much is:
"Who’s Eating With Me."

The hardest part of my job:
Being my own Roadie.

What I like to do in my "off" time:
Spending time with my LA woman!

The first thing I do when I come home from touring is:

Previous or first day job:
Respiratory Therapist.

Right after this interview I'm going to:
restring my guitar.

I couldn't imagine being on the road without:
My phone.

If I wasn't doing the musician thing, I could really see myself working as:
A Promoter or owning a Pawn Shop.

Favorite movie:
Rock Star.

My mission in life:
To Rock the World!!! Japan and Australia, your next!

My guilty pleasure band or artist:
Justin Timberlake.

My next goal is:
A Gold Record.

The greatest contribution guitars/music have brought into my life is:
A way to express myself.
