Rick Springfield.

Current job is:
Writer/Performer/Actor and the dude people most like to leech money off of.

My hometown:
Malibu CA.

Current album or project is:
A blues CD (sort of).

Former bands:
Zoot, Sahara Snow.

My guitar influences growing up were:
Jeff Beck, Hank B Marvin, BB King, Jimi Hendrix.

The guitars I use are:
vintage Fender, Gibson, as well as Matty Baratto made road guitars and Michael DeTemple made studio.

The strings and tuning I use are: Strings:
Ernie Ball strings. Standard tuning/drop D and open G.

Current rig setup consists of:
Bogner Shiva’s.

The greatest invention for guitars is
Evertune bridge

My normal songwriting process consists of:
Coming up with a title based on a feeling and staying the course till the thing is done.

Favorite all-time guitar solo from our band:
Solo from Allyson (Living in Oz album).

Favorite all-time guitar solo from another artist:
Jeff BECK ‘SHAPES OF Things’.

Favorite all-time song (any artist) is:
"I Am The Walrus"

Favorite song by our band:
Our ships sinking (from Songs for the end of the world).

Favorite song to perform in front of a live audience:
"Human Touch"

My Career highlight thus far is:
Still waiting!

My most embarrassing moment on stage:
Falling ass over tit during the school play “Scuttlebooms treasure’ when I was a kid in England.

Other than my guitar and amps, the one piece of my gear that I cannot live without is:
My brass slide.

The first song I ever mastered on guitar:
“Please Don’t Tease” by Cliff Richard and the Shadows.

My first guitar was:
$5 piece of crap from the local WOOLWORTHS.

The first time I ever heard our band on the radio was:
Dont remember, I could lie but whats the point?

If I am only sure of one thing in life, It's:
Never give up.

The one ritual I always perform prior to going on stage is:
I take a wizz.

The exact moment I knew I would pursue a career in music was:
When I touched my first guitar at age 11.

The one thing most fans don't know about me is:
I’m a neatness freak around my own home but on the road my hotel rooms look like a homeless guy’s lived there for 6 months.

The best advice I could give beginning guitarists:
Never give up.

Music/Band(s) I'm listening to right now:
Porcupine Tree, Pink Floyd, Beatles, Small Faces,

My 3 all-time favorite albums:
The Beatles 2nd album, The Church ‘Blurred Crusade’ Porcupine tree “Fear of a blank Planet"

Best gig:
The high school gig when I was 15 and a couple of girls actually screamed for us.

Favorite junk food:
Beer.

My biggest pet peeve:
Filling in forms.

The word or catch phrase I say too much is:
Motherfucker!

The hardest part of my job:
Traveling so far and so long I could be in Paris but I’m only in Dubuque.

What I like to do in my "off" time:
Write, play guitar, hang with my awesome family and stunning dog.

The first thing I do when I come home from touring is:
Kiss my dog.

Previous or first day job:
Delivering Christmas pamphlets for an alcohol store, on my bike, at night, in a freezing English winter.

Right after this interview I'm going to:
Have a beer.

I couldn't imagine being on the road without:
My laptop.

If I wasn't doing the musician thing, I could really see myself working as:
An Egyptologist.

Favorite movie:
2001 A Space Odyssey

My mission in life:
To reach my full potential and take you all with me.

My guilty pleasure band or artist:
I’m not guilty about anything I listen to and enjoy. Music is music is awesome!

My next goal is:
To get to the last question in this friggin’ interview!

The greatest contribution guitars/music have brought into my life is:
Personal freedom.
